Orange County, California is where I grew up. Around there, I learned how to skate, surf, fish, and much more. That is one of my favorite places in the world. All of my mom's side of the family is from California, and they have been for a long time. In the 1800's, my predecessors moved from Germany to California. They moved to a small mountain town named Chester. The town is basically a small German Village. In Chester, there is a place called Frosty's. Frosty's has the best milkshakes I have ever had. I want to go back there this summer.
Priorities- My main priority in life now is getting a job so I can pay for car insurance and other things. I am also doing that to save up for college. I have a few others, but they aren't as important, such as spending more time with family and researching colleges. One place i have been looking at working for is Bahama Bucks. The company is pretty stable and the pay is competitive for entry level jobs.
I have also been looking at Starbucks. Starbucks pays for your college and gives 3 more dollars per hour than others. Their work environment is also recognized as one of the best in the U.S.. I can't wait to get a job so I can finally buy the things i want and not have to ask for them. I also want to be independent and that will help me a lot.
Rainy Days-
I like rainy days. Whenever it is raining, it seems so peaceful and i also like when it is dark in the mornings because of clouds. Ever since i was little I have liked rain. Rain is my favorite weather. Rain is calming and fun. Playing in the rain is fun as well. There is no real reason to me to dislike the rain. Rain symbolizes new beginnings and opportunities. It washes away worry and makes you feel at peace.
Everyone I know likes rain, and i was born when it was raining/snowing.
Go-To Ideas
Elon Musk is the man that started Space-X and the Vehicle company Tesla. He is extremely rich and is pretty smart. A few weeks ago, he even launched a car into space. He reached national headlines when he launched the first privately funded unmanned rocket to circle Jupiter. For a time, he was the richest man in the world, which helped fund his space program. Space-X is a very generous company, donating millions of dollars to charities and healthcare worldwide. Musk also plays many video games. He owns 12 Companies and has a net worth of about 12 Billion USD. When he was little, he had stage fright. He says he had to overcome it before he could achieve what he has now. He says he learned most of what he knows from watching other people, and reading many books. He has not written a book, but he intends to in the future. He was born in South Africa, and in his late 20's, he sold his first company making millions.
Free write-
Cars. I like cars, and now i can drive them easily. I used to collect small car toys and play with them a lot, but now I just want to drive. I have a few cars I would really like to own in the future, but they are very expensive. I am not too crazy about buying expensive things, because they are, 90% of the time, wastes of money. I will most likely never own a Ferrari, but if that day comes, I will know that it required work and effort to get to that point.
Spring Break-
For Spring Break, I didn't go anywhere. I stayed in Texas, and I hung out with friends mainly. I also went swimming, worked out, and slept in. Even though I didn't go anywhere, I still had a lot of fun and enjoyed my time off. I also looked for jobs and didn't find any. I really liked swimming every day. Swimming is very relaxing and is a great workout. Overall, Spring Break was fun, and I look forward to our next break.
What I look forward to each week
Each week, I look forward to hanging out with my friends and having fun. Some weeks it is harder than others, but usually I accomplish it. School isn't really fun at all, but it is the people within that make it. I have many friends and every day we joke around and enjoy school as much as we can. I also look forward to going home every day, and chilling at my house.
The day I met one of my friends (other perspective)
The day I met one of my friends was the first day of school. He walked in and sat down next to me in Art class. I thought he was pretty cool so we started talking. It was my first day in public school and I had made a friend. We talked the whole class and had some fun on the first day in Art. Later that day on the way to lunch i saw that he had the same lunch as me. Ever since then we have eaten lunch together and hung out after school. This semester we don't have any classes together but we still hang out in the mornings and afternoon. Sometimes he gets out of class and we walk around the halls.
Do you prefer Paper or E-books? Why?
I prefer paper books. I have read paper books even since i was little, and I still do. I like paper books because with one of them you can sit back and relax. Real books are much easier as well because it feels good to read them and you can get absorbed just as easily. E-books are not the same. They are not fun to read and they just make reading harder. You don't have to charge a paper book.
How young is too young for an iPhone?
I think that 10 or below is too young to have an iPhone. When you are ten you are really immature and should not have an expensive phone. Also, when you are that young you have no need for a phone since you will either be at school or with your parents. Kids do not neèd a phone or a device at all and if parents provide them I feel they are making a mistake.
When do you really become an adult?
I believe that you truly become an adult when you have 3 things: A car, A job, And the ability to make your own decisions. When you can drive, it leads you to getting a job and becoming mature. When you have a job you create your own income and don’t rely on other people like an adult. And finally when you can make decisions you are able to live on your own and act as an adult.
Can money buy happiness?
To me, money can buy happiness. There are people that say the opposite, but if you look at them, they usually don't have any. Money really can buy happiness because, when you have money, you become part of a different class of people. You usually buy expensive things and live life to the max which drowns out any worries of the rest of the world. Money can be used for many things, and most of them cause happiness as long as you are smart. Many people also say money and things can't cause happiness but i believe they can. Money allows you to live life in our society and when people use religion to defend their situation, they are just trying to make their misfortune seem better than it is.
Do we give kids too many trophies?
Yes. Too many trophies are useless. Now, many kids get trophies just for participation and not actually being a winner. If you give a kid too many trophies, they think that they are better than they really are. When you give a kid too many trophies, you are getting them set up for a future failure and a big let down when they come to find out that their trophies are all for nothing and that they really aren't ready for the real world filled with many trained kids and people that worked hard for their "trophies". When they find that out, they will most likely give up and then fell like all of their time was for nothing. Society should only give kids trophies for actually winning so they know their true worth and skill level.
What should be done to stop cyberbullying?
In order to stop cyberbullying, children should be educated that the internet is not a friendly place and that they should not post thing that will get them made fun of. It is obvious that the internet is not a safe zone and that they may be tricked or blackmailed. If you are not capable of imagining this, then you need a wake up call. To be on the internet, you should have to take a course teaching of the things that happen and how to be aware of possible dangers. The internet is no place for kids, and they should be kept away.
Is graffiti considered art?
I believe graffiti is art but only in certain circumstances. Some graffiti is not art and just intended for destruction but some is actually artistic and abstract. Take Banksy for example. Nobody knows who he is, but his graffiti is very artistic and know around the world. We are taught that graffiti is very bad and is something you should not do but, as many things we are taught, we form opinions and change ideals for the future. If past thought about graffiti stuck, we would not have the current art forms and some of the inspirations for current art. Graffiti is a form of expression and can be used to create something new and artistic but at the same time can be destructive and annoying.
